The incident happened on Wilmington near Heno last night. Detectives say an HISD officer at Worthing High School heard gunshots down the street. He went to investigate and found a gunshot victim sitting in his vehicle. The victim, identified by police as John Dipo Miller, 28, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police believe someone shot the man as he sat in his car. There is no known motive or suspect(s) in this case. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
