A Tarrant County jury Thursday convicted Mannix Todd of two counts of aggravated sexual assault for abusing a 6-year-old girl and one count of indecency-fondling for molesting a 10-year-old. The jury deliberated just 15 minutes before sentencing him to life in prison on each of the first two counts and 50 years on the indecency charge. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Officials said the abuse came to light when the youngest girl told her brother.
Todd has a history of felony convictions, including burglary and drug and weapons possession. Todd was on deferred adjudication probation for stabbing the son of a 63-year-old woman who had been his common-law wife.
