A burglary suspect is in custody after he was discovered by deputies inside a residence in far southwest Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says at around 9am Monday deputies received a 911 call of a suspicious person at a residence in the 6900 block of La Granada in the Mission Bend area.

Deputies arrived at the home and they say the suspect came out of the house at the same time a deputy was going inside. The deputy told the suspect to stop. When he didn't, the deputy shot the man in the left hip.

The male suspect was transported to the hospital and deputies say he is expected to recover.

Deputies questioned the woman who called 9-1-1 and think she drove the suspect to the home under false pretenses.
