Two students injured in school bus wreck

HOUSTON The accident happened at about 4pm on Telephone Road, just southwest of Hobby Airport. The HISD bus was traveling south on Fuqua when a car pulled out in front of it on Telephone. The school bus appears relatively unscathed, but the car suffered considerable front end damage.

According to HISD officials, six students were on the bus at the time of the wreck. Two of the students were from Cornelius Elementary and four were from Garden Villas Elementary. One student from each school was transported to an area hospital.

HISD said that the two students suffered very minor injuries and have been released from the hospital.

The bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle were unhurt.
