Fifty-eight billboards across Houston that violate the city's sign ordinance are coming down. On Thursday, Mayor Annise Parker announced the city has won a three-year legal battle with RTM Media that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The billboards are posted in neighborhoods just outside the city limits, but the city has extraterritorial rights.

The city says the signs will be removed over the next 12 months at the company's cost.
