Firefighters go door-to-door to promote safety

Houston firefighters were out at a north Houston apartment complex where four people, including two young children, died in a fire last week. They want to make sure other families there stay safe. That's why they were going door-to-door at the Walnut Creek apartments off Green Plaza today, handing out safety information, and checking smoke detectors. They say everyone needs to have a working smoke detector, and they do this after deadly fires as a reminder to everyone.

Captain Gary Blackman with the Houston Fire Department said, "We just come out and do canvassing and make the residents aware of working smoke detectors. We give them information about ... space heaters."

Arson investigators still have not revealed a cause of the deadly fire last week.
