Wrong-way driver causes head-on collision on S. Loop

HOUSTON The head on collision caused several other accidents near S. Wayside. Authorities say a pickup truck and small compact car were involved in the head-on collision. HPD confirmed the driver of the car was travelling in the wrong direction.

The driver of the car is listed critical condition. The driver of the pickup suffered an injured foot and is expected to be OK.

Traffic was being directed to at least one lane and traffic is backed up for miles. At least three lanes were closed for hours. All lanes have since been reopened.
