Deputy constables on Wednesday announced charges for five suspects connected to the death of a police dog. Precinct 4 deputy constables say Cornelious Harrell choked the dog named Officer Blek Tuesday night. The dog chased five suspects into some woods in north Harris County. The dog eventually caught up with one of the suspects and grabbed hold of his leg, waiting for his handler.

"The other suspect came up behind the dog, who was trying to detain the juvenile, and grabbed the dog from behind and literally choked him to death," said Captain Wally Wieghat with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Three suspects face burglary charges while two face charges of hindering apprehension.
