Columbus Day weekend kicks off with a couple of freebies. If your name is Chris, Christina, Kristi or Columbus, you're entitled to a free meal at the Spaghetti Warehouse located downtown at 901 Commerce Street. You can choose from either a bowl of spaghetti or the 15 layer lasagna. Just print the online coupon and bring in your ID on Columbus Day.
If you haven't made it to the zoo this year, here is your free chance. On Monday October 12, Columbus Day, the Houston Zoo is offering free admission to everyone! The zoo is open from 9am to 7pm. But here is a word of caution. If you are taking advantage of the free day, you may want to get there a little early as parking can be tricky.
If you are in need of some pampering at the spa, we have a treat for you. Facelogic is offering a free mini-facial and skin analysis at its three Houston area locations when you bring in a coupon. You'll meet with a skin care therapist and they'll cleanse your skin and analyze it. The whole appointment should last 15 to 30 minutes.

If you want to take the family out for some fun this Saturday, it's the annual Fire Fest and admission is free! Fire Fest is an annual fun family event, hosted by the Houston Fire Museum, and is one of the fundraising events of the fire museum.
This is a great way for kids to check out fire trucks, and see fire and rescue demonstrations. There will also be inflatables, pony rides, live music, a car show and a bar-b-que cook-off! The free event is tomorrow from 10am to 5pm at the HFD Val Jahnke Fire Training Facility at 8030 Braniff.
