Southwest to fly food, workers to Houston

Southwest Airlines has a relief flight headed to Houston Hobby Airport carrying 10,500 pounds of food for the Houston Food Bank and 100 airline workers who will give employees at Hobby a break in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. The North Texas Food Bank said Monday that the flight headed to Houston early Tuesday will carry 345 emergency food boxes that will be distributed to families in need.

The North Texas Food Bank plans to build and transport 4,000 food boxes to the Houston and Beaumont Food Banks for distribution to families as they come back to the area.
