Man killed in grocery store parking lot

DEER PARK It happened just before 7pm Friday. The victim drove to a Gerland's on Spencer Highway at Underwood to meet another man. That meeting, we're told, turned into a confrontation and the victim was shot at least four times.

A passer-by saw the victim fall to the ground and, not knowing shots had been fired, pulled in to see if he could help.

"He had a seizure or something. I saw him fall to the ground and then I realized he had been shot," said that passer-by. "So I backed away and called 911."

The victim's cousin witnessed the shooting. That cousin was able to identify one of the men in the shooter's car. That man is now in custody, but police are still looking for the shooter and one other person who was in the car.
