Faux 2014 year in review video raises awareness for Alzheimer's disease

One video depicted the most iconic "events" of 2014 in an effort to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease.

2014 was truly an unforgettable year. Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, Michael Jordan won his first NBA title, and we said goodbye to brilliant innovators and artists like Steve Jobs and Heath Ledger. And one montage video of 2014's most iconic moments depicts them all.

Of course, none of those events actually happened in 2014. Let alone did any of the events depicted in the video. Instead, the forgetful nature of the video serves to raise awareness for for Alzheimer's disease. Published by Alzheimer's Nederland, the confusing end-of-year montage ends on a note saying "You are now experiencing what it's like to have Alzheimer's disease," and then asks watchers to share to raise awareness.

Many on Reddit have criticized the video stating that it isn't an accurate representation of what it is like to have Alzheimer's or Dementia. But others were in support of the video, citing how raising awareness for the disease is more important than a completely accurate depiction of living with Alzheimer's.
