Woman killed inside her apartment in northwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say a woman appears to have been shot to death inside her apartment in northwest Houston.

Family members requested a welfare check at the woman's apartment at 5500 De Soto around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after they hadn't heard from her.

When officers arrived, they found her dead in the living room. Investigators believe she was shot.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
