One of the major freeway closures this weekend includes the Gulf Freeway, but we've provided some alternate routes to help you.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- There are some freeway closures that could slow down your weekend plans, but drivers can avoid them with these alternate routes we've suggested.

Starting Friday at 9 p.m., crews will close three southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway between Spur 5 and Griggs Road. These are scheduled to reopen Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Drivers can avoid this closure by taking Highway 288 to the South Loop.

Another closure involves the Eastex Freeway. Starting Friday at 5 p.m., crews will close three northbound lanes between Northpark and FM 1314.

These are scheduled to reopen by Sunday at 5 p.m. Drivers can take Loops 494 as an alternate route.

Drivers should also plan ahead of the 610 West Loop Ramp closure. The northbound lane to US 59 southbound will be closed. It'll last from Saturday at 7 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

Take exit US 59 northbound and make a U-turn at Weslayan.

The last closure of the weekend involves the East Beltway 8. The southbound lane at SH-225 to Pasadena will be closed from Saturday at 6 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

Drivers should consider taking 610 East Loop as an alternate route.
