Drying out after Beta, fall front arrives next week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Beta's circulation is now in Louisiana, and we will gradually dry out over the next few days as we await the arrival of our first real fall front.

Galveston Island, the Bolivar Peninsula, and Matagorda Island are still under a Coastal Flood Advisory until 7 a.m. Thursday. Tides are expected to be 1-2 feet above normal.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the upper 60s under a mostly cloudy sky. We should get more breaks in the clouds Thursday. That sunshine will warm temperatures back to around 80.

With drier air continuing to filter in on a northwesterly wind, morning lows will dip into the 60s with highs in the 80s through the weekend. Temperatures will warm up to near 90 degrees by Monday, but our first fall cool front arriving Tuesday night should knock highs back down into the 70s with lows in the 50s. And that's with sunshine!
