MAGNOLIA, Texas -- A cafe in Magnolia is building a reputation in the community - not just for its fresh, handmade pies made daily, but for its mission to support veterans and their families.

"Victory Pie Co. started out with desire to give back," said Sheila Blue, owner of Victory Pie Co. "I lost my only brother serving in Afghanistan and he left a wife and a son and an unborn daughter. And I wanted a way to give back to veterans and their families."

Blue said it was her brother who inspired her to begin selling pies.

"We baked a lot together growing up," said Blue. "He was a phenomenal cook and a baker. But we both loved it. We would do friendly competitions, send each other pictures of the things we had going on during the holidays."

She first began selling her brother's favorite recipe, chicken pot pie, a farmers market in 2017. One year later, she opened a brick-and-mortar location on Tamina Rd.

Victory Pie Co. serves a variety of sweet and savory pies, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. A portion of all proceeds go back to various veterans organizations.

"We have had so many people come out and specifically support us being a small business because we give back to veterans and their families," said Blue. "We haven't just survived, we have thrived, because of this community and the way that they give back and the way that they support our business and our mission."
