New road connection gives residents in NE Houston direct access to US-59

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Drivers and homeowners around one northeast Houston neighborhood have a new way to access the Eastex Freeway.

Over the weekend, a new one-mile road extension of Madera Run Parkway opened.

The new extension connects Woodland Hills Drive to West Lake Houston Parkway.

It now takes just five minutes to access the Eastex Freeway from The Groves community.
