Galveston Causeway reopens following shutdown due to police activity

GALVESTON, TX -- There was a major traffic alert for people getting onto and off of Galveston Island this afternoon.

Police activity shut down both sides of the Galveston Causeway for several hours.

All outbound lanes were currently closed and the inbound lanes were partially open but all lanes have since reopened.
