HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston area drivers using an EZ Tag will see a 5-cent increase in tolls on along Harris County toll roads. This is a scheduled annual increase set to take effect tomorrow.

According to the Harris County Toll Road Authority's website, the tolls are adjusted each year based on inflation, as indicated by Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase for the region, or a minimum of two percent, whichever is greater.

The rates apply to standard 2-axle vehicles on main lane plazas and at current $1.15 ramp locations. Drivers using cash will not be impacted. At this rate, EZ TAG users continue to pay less than cash customers at most tolling locations.
