FORT BEND COUNTY (KTRK) -- A traffic stop in Fort Bend County led to the discovery of almost $170 thousand in illicit cash.



On Monday, May 12, The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop of a passenger vehicle for a traffic violation on U.S. 59 south at Isleib Road near Beasley. During the roadside investigation, the interdiction detective and his K-9 partner "Mike" located $169,632 in U.S. currency concealed in a box in the back of the vehicle.

Isidro Sosa, 60, of Olmitio, Texas, was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on second degree felony charges of Money Laundering.

Sosa posted bail on $15,000 bond and was released from the jail on Tuesday, May 13.



In the month of May alone, Narcotics Task Force agents have seized $386,332 in three traffic stops.
