I-45 reopens after downed lines removed from freeway at Cavalcade

HOUSTON -- The North Freeway has reopened after downed telephone lines shut down the freeway in both directions at Cavalcade, causing a rush hour traffic nightmare.

The road was closed due to downed lines across the freeway. CenterPoint officials say the lines are not power lines, but rather telephone lines.

Houston police say a large truck hit the pole, causing the lines to topple across the freeway.
