HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Police have confirmed that Raquel Vazquez Hernandez, 23, has been arrested after a hit and run crash overnight that killed three teenagers and left three others injured.

Vasquez has been charged with three counts of failure to stop and render aid to a fatality, according to police, who say the suspect is a flight risk.

Police continue to look for a passenger who also fled the scene.

Police had been looking on Saturday for the driver who ran away after allegedly running a red light and slamming into a car at a southeast Houston intersection.

It happened just before 2:30am on Woodridge Drive near the South Loop. Police said a white Chrysler was speeding southbound on Woodridge when it ran a red light and hit a blue Chevy Cavalier.

Three teenagers inside that Chevy were pronounced dead at the scene; three others were injured. Eyewitness News has learned two of the deceased teenagers, one male and one female, were siblings. Their parents are Cy-Fair Volunteer firefighters Raquel Geddry and Michael Shane Geddry. The other deceased occupant's identity has not been released.

Robert Rasa, public relations supervisor for the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, released this statement late Saturday: "The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department would like all members to keep Station 12 in your thoughts and prayers. The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department and it's members will support the family's needs any way they can. At this point, we are respecting the request for the family's privacy."

Of the teenagers injured, one female was transported to Ben Taub Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two males were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. One of the men is listed in critical condition and the other male appeared to have non-life threatening injuries.

Both the driver and a passenger in the car that police said caused the fatal wreck took off on foot.

The victims names have not been released.

HPD is asking anyone with any information to call the HPD's Hit and Run Division 713-247-4065, or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
