Entergy Texas says that crews are working to restore power as nearly 70,000 customers are without power as of 7:15 p.m. Tuesday amid Tropical Storm Edouard's landfall.
According to Harris County Constable Precinct 4, multiple homes in the Braemar Village subdivision had their breaker boxes stolen, leaving them without power.
The incident caused power outages to many, including the Space Center Intermediate School, which announced that school is cancelled for the day.
CenterPoint Energy says the workforce responding to outages and emergencies has increased to 3,300 people spread across the Houston area.
The City of Tomball announced that there will be scheduled road closures and a power outage starting Wednesday morning while maintenance is done to power lines on W. Main Street.
