HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A power outage has shut down operations at the City of Houston Municipal Courts Department on Friday, city officials said.

In a release, the City of Houston said the municipal courts at 1400 Lubbock will be closed on Friday, Aug. 21, with normal operations expected to resume on Monday, Aug. 24.

City officials said that from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, there will be no trials by judge or jury, arraignments, parking adjudication hearings, or jury service.

Officials said case resets will take place in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning Monday through Friday, Sep. 4. Authorities added that if a person fails to reset their case during the reset period, an arrest warrant may be issued.

City officials said that the department will be open on Saturday for annex court, scheduled wedding ceremonies, and parking adjudication hearings.

For more information, people can call the City of Houston helpline at 311 or 713-837-0311 if outside of the City of Houston, or visit the Municipal Courts website at www.houstontx.gov/courts.
