Sugar Land is looking to develop a new industrial business park.
The city says it's negotiating a deal for approximately 230 acres of land near the Sugar Land Regional Airport where the Central Prison Unit used to be. The land would be used for airport improvements, a public safety training facility and a business park that could focus on aviation-related businesses.
Sugar Land has released a Request for Statements of Interest to find a partner to conduct a feasibility study on the land. Developers with experience in planning and developing multi-acre business parks can apply with the city by September 4.
