Man charged with murder after woman found dead inside car in League City, police say

Officers responding to a call found a woman dead in a car with gunshot wounds.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 38-year-old man from Magnolia faces a murder charge in connection with a woman found dead inside a vehicle in League City on Monday, police said.

According to the League City Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call on Monday at 2:25 p.m. at the Harbor Walk Apartments along E. FM 518. When officers arrived, they reported finding a 37-year-old woman dead inside a Toyota Corolla.

Authorities said the victim appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds.

An investigation got underway, and through the course of the investigation, authorities said Isaiah Johnson was identified as a person of interest in the case and had reportedly fled the area in a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Information about Johnson was immediately shared, and after a short time, the Galveston Police Department notified League City PD that Johnson had surrendered at their station.

The investigation continues into the case. Johnson’s relationship to the victim, or the reason behind her death, was not immediately disclosed.
