The Houston Dynamo have postponed their weekend game against Sporting Kansas City because ofHurricane Harvey.
The storm is scheduled to affect the Houston area this weekend, and the MLS game had been scheduled for Saturday night atBBVA Compass Stadium.
The game will now be made up on Wednesday, Oct. 11, during a recognized FIFA international date.
An NWSL match between the Houston Dash andNorth Carolina Courage was also postponed.
"Under the circumstances, the clear and obvious decision is to reschedule these matches. The most important thing is the safety of our community," club president Chris Canetti said. "I appreciate the support of MLS, NWSL, Sporting Kansas City and the North Carolina Courage in working through this difficult situation with us.
"On behalf of the Dynamo, Dash and BBVA Compass Stadium, we wish for everyone's utmost safety and security throughout the storm."
