HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Astronauts and skydivers will be on hand at Space Center Houston this Saturday for the grand opening of a one of a kind exhibit.
The new Independence Hall features a shuttle replica mounted on a real shuttle carrier aircraft.
Visitors can walk around both aircraft, unlike the real space shuttles which were awarded to other cities.
"The first impression people are going to get is just the immense size of the airplane and the shuttle and I think people are going to have a new respect for what it takes to create these vehicles and have them fly," says Paula Spana, exhibits manager for Space Center Houston.
Space Center Houston says it hopes the exhibit inspires kids to pursue studies in science and math.
