Teen fatally shot at southeast Houston party

A deadly party shooting in SE Houston.

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- A teen is dead after gunfire rang out at a party in southeast Houston late last night.

It happened at an apartment complex at the 8000 block of Broadway at around 11:30pm. Witnesses say 17-year-old Jason Holiday got into a confrontation with another guest. Words were exchanged and then police say the other guest shot Holiday.

Witnesses say Holiday tried to run. but was shot again.

"When you get the call at night, you think someone is stuck on the side of the road, but they told me my little cousin is gone so I won't be able to play basketball with him again," said Anthony Kelley, Holiday's Cousin. "He didn't have to go like that. He didn't deserve to lose his life like that."

Police have not given the identity of the suspect, but those who were at the party say they know who the suspect is and have given the information to police.
