HOUSTON -- Three big names in Houston sports came together to help some children in need get a brighter Christmas this year at JCPenney.

Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, cornerback Johnathan Joseph, and Houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman were joined by children and families from the YMCA of Greater Houston.

In all, 16 children were given $100 each to buy holiday gifts for their families.

Three families hit by the flooding during Hurricane Harvey were also surprised to receive a $5,000 shopping spree, plus the generous donation of an LG washer and dryer.

Houston Astros' Alex Bregman was just one of the pro athletes who helped make dreams come true today.

Our cameras were there as those families were surprised by the athletes.

One woman burst into tears as JCPenney employees pulled the curtain on their new washers and dryers.

A very emotional day today, but also a special one for these families in need.
