HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Before Houston had street signs, there were tiles. And one man is on a mission to save this little known piece of history.
Houston native Joey Sanchez is documenting the last remaining blue-tile street signs. He calls them our city's "original street art."
"These blue tile street signs have been on the corner of streets for over 100 years, and they're slowly disappearing. So we decided one day to snap photos of them and put them on a map. And that turned into the blue project.com," Sanchez said.
You can help Sanchez by submitting photos of any blue tile signs you see at Bluetileproject.com.
