Segment 1 - A look at the increase in gang violence in the Houston area following the shooting of two Houston Police Officers by gang members. Lt. Caroleta Johnson with Houston Police Department's Gang Division and Sgt. Mark Schmidt with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Gang Unit discuss some of the challenges law enforcement faces in dealing with the evolving gang problem here. Authorities say gangs are now working together to commit crimes and moving away from turf battles. Lt. Johnson and Sgt. Schmidt say there are about 19,000 gang members and more than 350 gangs currently in the Houston area.
