Man shot in head while walking in SW Houston

HOUSTON -- Houston police are investigating after a man was shot in the head in southwest Houston early this morning.

Around 3am, officers were called to Richmond and Dunvale. Investigators say that's where a man was walking when he was approached by three men. The man was shot in the head. The three suspects ran northbound on Dunvale through an apartment complex.

Police say the suspects ditched the gun over a fence. Officers found the weapon stuck in the ground, barrel down.

EMS transported the victim to Ben Taub Hospital. Right now his condition is unknown.
