Shelter-in-place order lifted for residents after chemical emergency in La Porte

LA PORTE, Texas (KTRK) -- A shelter-in-place order has been lifted for residents in the city of La Porte.

According to officials, the shelter-in-place was ordered Friday night after firefighters were called to a chemical emergency on 16th Street. Residents and businesses north of Spencer Highway and east of Underwood Boulevard were asked to keep doors and windows closed.
