San Bernardino bomb, arson K9 dies after training exercise

SAN BERNARDINO, CA -- It was sad news for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department after one of its K9s died following a training exercise.

It is still unclear how the Sable German Shepherd from the Czech Republic died on Wednesday.

JoJo was assigned to the bomb and arson detail with tracking and explosive detection skills.

The police department's Facebook said he was smart, loyal, durable and driven in a dedicated message posted in 2014.

A possible memorial for JoJo was pending.
