New luxury shopping center opens up in River Oaks area

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There's a brand new luxury shopping center open in the River Oaks area!

River Oaks District is located on the north side of Westheimer Road between the West Loop and West Lane. It's 300,000 square feet and all outdoors.

People can also live there as well, as there's about 270 apartments and loads of office space.

Right now, 12 stores are open. Every week, two more stores will open up. And the theater will open next month.

"You can tell from the storefronts, they take pride in their branding. It puts people on the sidewalk and that's where the activity is and interaction and that's what we are gonna create here," developer Oliver McMillan said.

About 35 stores open by Thanksgiving.
