Aretha Franklin mural created by London-based artist vandalized

DETROIT, Michigan (KTRK) -- A mural of the late Queen of Soul was vandalized in Detroit overnight.

The mural, depicting an Aretha Franklin album cover, was painted by London-based artist Richard Wilson.

A friend of the artist says the vandals climbed up on a cherry picker and used paint to vandalize the mural.

The artist is now working to fix the mural.
