Hobby Airport flights back on track after 'general threat' causes delays
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Flights at Hobby Airport appeared to be back on track on Sunday morning after airport officials said it received a "general threat" involving a Southwest Airlines flight on Saturday evening.
The Houston Police Department said it has not found the threat to be credible, but an investigation is ongoing.
In a statement, Southwest Airlines said one of its flights on the ground underwent security screening at the request of local law enforcement, which delayed other inbound Southwest flights.
According to FlightAware, Hobby Airport experienced departure delays of about 50 minutes.
Passengers on a Southwest flight told ABC13 they were stranded in a plane parked on the airport's tarmac due to a "security issue."
Airline officials said that their operations have resumed at Hobby.
