HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Willowbrook Mall will continue its temporary "Parental Guidance Required" policy on Saturday, a spokesperson for the shopping center said.

The northwest Houston mall announced the program on April 30 and initially said it was in place for the following two Saturdays: May 3 and 9.

The "PRG" program states that those 17 and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent, or a supervising adult age 21 or older, in the mall after 2 p.m.

ABC13 was present when the new rule went into effect and found that some shoppers had to show ID to get inside.

The rule initially came after a teen flash mob last weekend ended in two girls being detained by police inside Willowbrook Mall. A video circulating on social media showed two girls fighting as crowds gathered to watch. Houston police said they detained and cited two girls for fighting at the mall.

As for when Saturdays can return to normalcy at Willowbrook Mall, officials did not say.
