HPD said that officers responded to a shooting call and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital. Police reported on Tuesday that the victim had been pronounced dead.
Sources said the victim, identified in court records as 25-year-old Cameron Adams, is the son of a Harris County Sheriff's Office sergeant. The department confirms it is supporting the family during this time.
According to court records, 21-year-old Nicholas Youngblood was initially charged with aggravated assault for shooting at a second man, Curtis Moore. Moore was not injured, according to HPD.
Records state Youngblood and Adams were involved in a verbal altercation that led to the gunfire and that Youngblood shot at the victims nine times.
Video shared with Eyewitness News shows Moore arriving on a bicycle outside the restaurant. A verbal exchange appears to take place before the suspect, dressed in all pink, pulls out a gun and fires. ABC13 paused the video before the shooting.
HPD said officers detained Youngblood a few blocks from the scene. Authorities said the department consulted with the Harris County District Attorney's Office before Youngblood was arrested and charged for his role in the incident.
Editor's Note: The article has been updated to identify the shooting victim as Cameron Adams and a second victim, who survived, as Curtis Moore.
