Texans sign LB Kenneth Murray to practice squad

HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans signed former first-round pick Kenneth Murray to their practice squad Tuesday in the wake of starting linebacker Henry To'oTo'o landing on injured reserve.

Murray, a 2020 first-round pick by theChargers, started 83 games over six seasons with the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys and Chargers. He recorded 497 tackles with 33 for loss.

Murray most recently played for the Cowboys after spending the 2024 season in Tennessee. He provides depth for the Texans linebacker room after To'oTo'o was injured with 2:34 left in Houston's season-opening loss toBuffalo, when he was tackled by Bills tight end Dawson Knox.

To'oTo'o, a 2023 fifth-round pick, signed a two-year, $16 million contract extension in August.

The other options in the group to pair with Pro Bowl linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are rookie Aiden Fisher, Jake Hansen, Jake Hummel and rookie Wade Woodaz.

The Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, then travel toIndianapolisbefore hosting the Cowboys in Week 4.
