Suspected car thief arrested after hiding in trash can at the end of chase, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspected car thief was arrested at the end of a chase in the Spring area on Thursday morning, according to Pct. 4 constable deputies.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said it received a tip about a suspect possibly trying to steal vehicles on Goldspring Lane.

Investigators said the passenger of a Chrysler 300, which was stolen from Indiana, stole a green Challenger belonging to a resident, and both vehicles fled the scene.

Constable deputies said one suspect led them on a chase in the stolen Challenger and crashed into a ditch at the end of Sciaaca Road.

The suspect then ran into the woods and hid in a trash can in the Bradbury Forest subdivision, according to deputies.

A K9 found the suspect and he was taken to the county jail.
