Spring man dies days after being shot, death now being investigated as a homicide, HCSO says

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A Dec. 6 shooting that happened in Spring over the weekend has now turned into a homicide investigation after the victim died three days later.

Harris County Precinct 4 reported that a man, whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times in the 2700 block of Spring Dusk Lane on Saturday night.

On Dec. 11, the Harris County Sheriff's Office announced that the victim died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The shooting is now being investigated as a homicide, HCSO said.

Investigators said they learned that the victim had walked to meet someone and, minutes later, neighbors heard several gunshots.

A bystander found the wounded victim lying on the street, and he was later taken to the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

They added that, initially, emergency medical staff was able to save him, but he later died.
