Sharpstown HS wins $100,000 for new sports equipment

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Sharpstown High School is getting $100,000 in new sports equipment, thanks to their students.

The school entered a contest through the "Let's Play" initiative to get money to upgrade the athletic department.

Students showed the poor condition of their playing fields and equipment and talked about what sports meant to them.

Coaches and students say winning means more than just new footballs and weights.
