
GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A person riding an electric scooter was rushed to the hospital after a car crash overnight, Galveston police say.
According to the Galveston Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of 45th Street and Avenue R 1/2 at about 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a Cadillac Escalade in the 2300 block of 45th Street, facing northbound. Officers said they also found the operator of a scooter with serious injuries.
Officials said that officers immediately began life-saving measures on the scooter driver until crews from Galveston EMS and the Galveston Fire Department arrived, and the rider was taken to the hospital.
The operator's condition is listed as critical and unstable, according to police.
Investigators said the driver of the Cadillac remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police said no charges have been filed at this time.
The incident is still under investigation, Galveston police said.
