METRO bus involved in multi-vehicle crash, 7 people taken to hospitals, HFD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A METRO bus and four other cars were involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the south side of Houston, and at least seven people were hospitalized as a result, according to the Houston Fire Department.

The wreck happened in the 11000 block of Almeda Road around 4 p.m. on Thursday, fire officials said.

Fire officials said seven people were taken to different hospitals, but did not give any other details. METRO Police said that of the nine bus passengers that reported injuries, only one of them was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to METRO Police, the driver of a vehicle hit the bus and attempted to flee the scene. MPD said the driver was taken into custody by the Houston Police Department.
