City officials identify source of foul odor spreading across Deer Park

DEER PARK, Texas (KTRK) -- City officials said they identified the source of a foul odor spreading across Deer Park on Saturday morning.

According to the Deer Park Office of Emergency Management, Lubrizol confirmed that routine tank-cleaning operations caused the smell.

No shelter-in-place order was issued, and city officials said there is no hazard to the community or threat to public health.

Deer Park OEM and Harris County hazmat crews said they have cleared the situation.
