Lightning ignites tree on fire

Don't get too close because this tree is burning hot.

A tree was struck by lightning just outside of Springdale, Arkansas, causing it to burn from within before it fell, according to AccuWeather.

Because tree sap is a poor electrical conductor, "its electrical resistance causes it to be heated explosively" when struck by lightning.
