Two people are injured after a shooting inside a Kroger store on Cypresswood Drive in northwest Harris County, Pct. 4 deputies say.

CYPRESS, Texas (KTRK) -- Two men are in critical condition after shots were fired inside a Kroger store on Wednesday afternoon in northwest Harris County, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4 deputies.

According to Precinct 4, deputies responded to the 20300 block of Cypresswood Drive at 2:50 p.m. regarding a reported active shooter. Upon arrival, deputies took the suspect into custody in under two minutes.

Based on preliminary information, deputies say that the incident stemmed from a domestic disturbance between both men.

The male victim shot by the suspect is in serious condition, and he was taken via LifeFlight from the scene, deputies said. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound on his neck and was taken by a nearby hospital, deputies added.

According to deputies, there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Kroger released a statement reading:

"We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at our Fairfield Marketplace Kroger store located at 20355 Cypresswood Drive, Cypress, TX 77433."

"We are cooperating with local law enforcement, who have secured the store and parking lot. The store will remain closed while the police investigation continues, and we have initiated counseling services for our associates."

"To protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, we are referring questions to our local law enforcement."
