Largest live gator ever caught in Texas found near Dayton

DAYTON, TX (KTRK) -- Incredible photos and video have surfaced of the largest live alligator ever caught in Texas.

Massive gator hiding under trailer surprises homeowner

A man went outside his home for some cool air this morning, heard some hissing behind him, and was met with a huge surprise: an 11-feet-long alligator under his travel trailer.

The gator was caught in the Champion Lake area, about 10 miles south of Dayton.

David Nezat enlisted his friend's help after spotting an alligator on his property that he believes was close to 50 years old and almost 14 feet long.

This monster measured 13-feet, 8-inches long and weighed in at nearly 900 pounds.

Experts say the alligator could be as old as 50 or 60 years old.
